Police Department Adds Two Captains

Westport First Selectman Gordon F. Joseloff today presided over a crowded promotion to captain ceremony at police headquarters for Sergeants Foti Koskinas (l) and Samuel Arciola. The revival of the captain rank was part of a department-wide restructuring following the retirement of five lieutenants. In his remarks, Joseloff praised both men, saying he knew them well and was especially proud to promote two Staples High School graduates who had a personal understanding of and compassion for the challenges faced by young people growing up in Westport.
