Noroton Fire elects new slate of officers

The Noroton Fire Department elected a new slate of service and executive officers at its January annual meeting.

Michael E. Vitti was not up for re-election and remains as chief. Alan Hyatt was re-elected to first assistant chief, and Jim O’Brien was re-elected to second assistant chief.

Newly elected to captain of engines was Richard Conway; captain of trucks, Ray Buxton; and captain of boats, Jamie Hunter. The new lieutenant of Engine 31 is Jim Ryan; lieutenant of Engine 32 is John Hessmer; lieutenant of Truck 30 is Greg Geraci; lieutenant of Rescue 33 is Mike R. Burkhart; and re-elected as lieutenant of boats was Phil Andrianus.

Pete Ham was re-elected to mechanical supervisor, along with Micky Vitti as assistant mechanical supervisor, and Fraser Head as superintendent of alarms.

Bobby Bush is the newly elected president of the executive board, with Micky Vitti as vice president and Fraser Head as financial secretary.

Craig Ackerman was re-elected to recording secretary, and Doug Lawrence was re-elected to treasurer. Tom Hlavac, in his third year on the executive committee, is its new chairman, joined by returning member Dan O’Brien Sr. and newly elected member Joe Warren Sr.
