NEW HAVEN — The awards committee recently announced the winners of this year’s St. Patrick’s Day parade:

Grand Marshal Award: WCTX Television Balloon Brigade, Gallogly.

Best Irish Marching Band: N.H. Gaelic Football and Hurling Club, Luth.

Best Police Marching Band: Connecticut State Police, Sweeney.

Best Fire Department Marching Unit: New Haven Fire Fighters, Local 825, Knights of St. Patrick.

Best Volunteer Fire Department Marching Unit: Webster Hose Company 3, Cannon-Griffin.

Best Veterans’ Marching Unit: Iwo Jima Survivors Association Inc., Quinn.

Best Senior Marching Unit: 69th NYSV Historical Association Inc., Irish American Community Center.

Best Youth Marching Unit: James Hillhouse High School, Army Jr. ROTC, McHugh.

Best Private School Marching Unit: St. Francis School, Boyne-Gallagher.

Best Pipe Band: Manchester Regional Police and Fire Pipeband, Malenda-Lyng.

Best Re-enactment Unit: 27th Connecticut Volunteers, Keefe.
